Mirrors, Windows, and Paintings

What do we see in a mirror? There is an ongoing debate over whether mirrors present us with images of objects or see, through the mirror, themselves. Roberto Casati has recently argued that there categorical difference between and mirror reflections. His argument depends on observation mirrors, but not paintings, are sensitive to changes observer’s perspective. In our paper scrutinize Casati’s modal shows it cannot establish this conclusion. We suggest line reasoning suffers from fact he does take dynamic – is, change time into account.
